Concrete Angel
"Concrete Angel" is a power ballad, centering around a main theme of
child abuse. The narrator tells a story about a little girl (named
Angela Carter in the music video) who's trying to deal with abuse from
her alcoholic mother. Some people, including the girl's teacher, seem to
notice signs of abuse, but just try to ignore it. The little girl keeps
mostly to herself, showing she doesn't have the life a kid should have,
but she has one best friend. He is the only other one who really knows
what's going on.
