“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” ~ John Quincy Adams January focused on a very important character trait for Southeastern Jr. High … LEADERSHIP! The day started with teams discussing leadership and searching the Internet for famous quotes about leadership. This discussion included analyzing a variety of leaders, including the qualities that made them effective. Students participated in a role play activities that helped them understand the meaning of leadership in fun ways. Teams were divided into pairs for a scavenger hunt which took them all over the school building collecting a variety of odds and ends based on riddles they had to solve. They eventually created a metaphor to describe “leadership” and then used the things they collected to build a replica to represent their metaphor of leadership! While some teams ate, others participated in relays. The winners of the traveling trophy were the Modest Mighty Ducks.
