During the spring of 2009, Mr. Clark and his sixth grade science
classes took an empty section of lawn on the south side of our building
and created a schoolyard habitat.

Using funds from a grant and lots of sixth grade energy, a dry creek
bed was created.

Native plants were added, including: Little Bluestem Grass,
Gray-headed Coneflowers, Black-eyed Susan, Purple Coneflower, Blazing
Star, Butterflyweed, Showy Goldenrod, Ironweed, Switch Grass, and New
England Aster.
